The necessity of using a voltage regulator for laser cutting machines

Laser cutting is the process of focusing the laser emitted from a laser into a high power density laser beam through an optical path system. The laser beam is irradiated onto the surface of the workpiece, causing it to reach its melting or boiling point, while high-pressure gas coaxial with the beam blows away the melted or vaporized metal. As the position of the beam relative to the workpiece moves, a cutting seam is ultimately formed in the material, thereby achieving the purpose of cutting.
From the principle of laser cutting machine, we know that the laser cutting machine generates a large current at the moment of laser beam irradiation on the surface of the workpiece, and the temperature is very high. Moreover, the current instantly decreases when the laser beam is not working. This repetition will have a huge impact on the voltage. If the power grid voltage is unstable, the voltage will be high and low, which will affect the life, cutting quality, and cutting speed of the main components of laser cutting equipment. Therefore, laser cutting machine needs to be equipped with a voltage regulator to protect the stability and reliability of equipment operation
Laser cutting equipment has high requirements for the stability of the power supply system. For example, SNK's laser cutting equipment in Japan is equipped with FANUC's CNC system, which requires three-phase AC 380 V ± 10%, 50 Hz ± 1% for the power supply. Moreover, most laser cutting equipment is designed with overvoltage/undervoltage protection devices inside. Once the grid voltage exceeds the limit, the machine tool will automatically alarm and be in a protective state. The allowable deviation of power supply voltage in our country's power grid is ± 10%, but in reality, it often exceeds this standard, especially during peak electricity consumption periods, such as about an hour before or after work during the day, and at night, where the deviation is often significant, even reaching ± 20%. Causing the machine tool to sound an alarm and unable to operate normally, and causing damage to the machine tool power system. Even leading to the loss of parameter data. This phenomenon has occurred in both laser cutting equipment and machine tools such as CNC machining centers or turning centers, and the frequency of occurrence is high, which should be taken seriously.
The specialized voltage regulator for laser cutting equipment is independently developed by our factory and designed in combination with China's national conditions to stabilize the AC power supply. When the external power supply or load changes cause voltage fluctuations, it automatically outputs a stable voltage
Compared with other types of voltage regulators, the specialized voltage regulator for laser cutting equipment has the characteristics of large capacity, high efficiency, no waveform distortion, and stable voltage regulation. It is widely applicable to loads, can withstand instantaneous overload, can work continuously for a long time, can be manually controlled and automatically switched, has automatic protection devices such as overvoltage and overcurrent, and is small in size, light in weight, easy to use and install, and reliable in operation.
Special voltage regulators for laser cutting equipment are widely used in laser engraving machines, laser cutting machines, and sheet metal laser cutting machine brands such as Dazu Laser, Denon Laser, Masda, High Energy Laser, Zhongke Zhongmei, Beijing Youneng, Xuyang Laser, Jinyun Laser, Tongkuai Laser, Northern, Chaoxing, Dazu Super Energy Laser, Swiss Baichao Laser, German Tongkuai Laser, Italian Prima Laser, Wuhan Pentium Chutian Laser, etc
